1990 Institute Teachers Workshop
About this workshop
The U.S. and China represent the two largest economies in the world, with deeply interconnected yet often competing interests. Their economic relationship involves trade, investment, and technology exchanges, shaped by regulatory, cultural, and geopolitical factors. This webinar will explore the economic interdependencies between these two powers and provide a discussion into the impact of these unique yet interwoven economic landscapes.
This webinar is open to everyone who is interested in this topic. You will:
-
Gain a deeper understanding of how history shapes today’s economic relationships between the U.S. and China.
-
Learn about the practical challenges and opportunities businesses and policymakers face in navigating these relations.
-
For Educators: Equip your students with the tools to critically analyze the global economy through engaging case studies and real-world examples.
-
Participate in a lively Q&A and discussion incorporating educators’ needs, bridging theory and practice.
The insights shared will not only enhance your knowledge on this topic but also inspire educators with new ways to engage students in conversations about global interdependence, trade, and economic policy. Each country has distinct systems for business interactions which are crucial to understand.
-
In the U.S., a market-driven approach and strong legal frameworks prioritize competition, innovation, and transparency, but also demand compliance with strict regulatory standards and intellectual property protections.
-
In China, decision-making, relationships, and market entry strategies are heavily influenced by the centralized role of the government, state-owned enterprises, and cultural values. Understanding China’s unique approach to capitalism, its political system, and its swiftly changing regulatory environment is crucial.
Don’t miss this opportunity to enrich your knowledge and, for educators too, your teaching toolkit to bring real-world relevance into your classroom.
